As I think about Studebaker Elementary, and our students, staff, and families, the role of principal carries a lot of responsibility. Providing a safe and positive learning environment is imperative. Additionally, it is equally important to provide on-going communication between school and home, and to support staff and students in preparation for their future.
Students must feel safe at school. They need to feel valued and supported. Studebaker staff is vigilant in supervising students in class and on the playground. Student safety is of utmost importance. Student issues are addressed, as soon as possible, in order to address concerns or issues.
Communication between home and school is vital. Parents need to be aware of what is happening at school. This includes fun activities as well as student issues. Calling parents is a priority when students are injured at school. Calling parents is also a priority when students are involved in altercations.
As I look forward to the future, the goal is to prepare students for state and district assessments and advancement to the next grade level. Preparing students for the future is always in the forefront of our minds. Providing an education that is rigorous and engaging is our focus. Teachers regularly participate in staff development to learn new curricular practices. We also meet as a staff where professional development practices are reviewed and refined. Education is a partnership with parents, students and school. I greatly appreciate the support and partnership with each and every one of you.
Thank you for the privilege of working with your children!
